Life in Amsterdam working in litigation finance was pretty good but never felt like my call. Work hard, party hard - until the Big Boss decides that my life was meant to serve His Plan. And He did it in a fantastic - I'd now say perfect - way.
Three things happened, in no particular order of importance.
A mistake.
Ego inflation leading me to a painful error in market modelling - with the very standard econometric models I had used to build one of the largest tech-powered collective claim initiatives in EU and to write my Cambridge book. I understood that even the most sophisticated models used by the World Bank and EU institutions are imperfect. That just or right models in legal and / or finance do not exist yet. They needed to be built.
A broken heart.
A beautiful blue-eyed blonde physics graduate led me to study physics to understand what was wrong with her. There was nothing wrong with her. The problem was much, much bigger than the two of us. I understood that physics did not include human laws amongst the laws of nature - and that we lawyers do not measure human laws and legal systems. As humans, we still do not do legal science. We are not yet fully evolved as a species. She once told me that love is rational. I didn't know. I thought it was only about feelings. Women are almost always right when listened to in hindsight.
A random meeting.
Don Francesco from Opus Dei. He was called like my deceased grandfather, uncle, and former father-in-law - and perhaps that is why he immediately knew how to set up the Plan for me, which I followed to the letter. I understood that the Plan existed not just for me but for all of us. That it is up to us to follow. And that it is much better, bigger and juster than what we thought for ourselves - we just need to use His models for our systems.

I did not see any reason why human law and legal systems should not be written, measured and understood in the same language.
So I began studying natural laws - independently and with experts - in the language in which they were written: mathematics. Not as formulas or numbers, but as principles to optimise the human legal order.
The idea was initially rejected by EU and US universities until I reached the BRICS Competition Law Center in Moscow, where they also wanted to study natural models applied to legal systems. Being in Moscow in time of war between the European Union and Russia made me feel a little like Sadi Carnot - the French military engineer who wanted to improve engine efficiency. I want the same for legal systems.
The Problem of Our Time.
Carnot believed that a perpetual motion machine - a hypothetical machine that operates indefinitely by transforming waste and inefficiency into new energy - was impossible to build. But Carnot, like all other physicists, did not include human laws amongst the laws of physics. Neither did he know about relativity or quantum physics. And he did not use mathematical constants like π and φ that prove the opposite.
We measure the temperature of the atmosphere to the tenth of a degree. We do not know the weight of a single law. We model financial markets with quantum-inspired algorithms. We have no instrument to measure whether a legal system is generating or destroying value. We have mapped the human genome. We have not mapped a single legal system.
That is the Problem of Our Time. And it is solvable.
The experiment.
Five years of research led to the conclusion that there is no other way to put this idea into practice than to build the technology to show and share it. The whole technological framework lives under 1love.works© - representing the idea that there is one Creator whose laws are equal and universal for all of us, and that all human laws need to fit His.
Based on this, I built phenography© - a combination of AI and blockchain grounded in relativity (E=MC², proposing λ=C²), the De Broglie wavelength, and the cosmological constant. A legal measurement instrument. A way to turn entropy - waste, inefficiency, frozen value - into productive legal work cycles.
The goal: to engineer and build a perpetual motion machine for Planet Earth. Not metaphorically. Mathematically.
Being experimental, mistakes are possible and must be collectively and constantly corrected. That is the only possible way to build, one day, the perpetual motion machine.
